I haven’t lost a lot of very close people in my life.
While we're here, we really should take the chance to photograph those we love. I mean it. Really sit them down, and focus a moment on their being.
I write this because I've just returned from visiting my Grandparents in Stratford, Ontario.
<abridged> We never saw each other much growing up on opposite ends of the country, and thus were never really "close" per se. They don't fly. Talk on the phone maybe twice a year. Haven't seen them in 10 years. Grandpa is not well.
Pin ups might just be the pinnacle of entertainment for photographers and models alike. Fun from start to finish... collecting cool retro props, hunting thrift stores for vintage clothing, researching hairstyles and makeup, then throwing a 'pin-up party' and setting up a mock studio right in your home... wait...
Had a great shoot with Kay, in another beautiful backyard in Nanaimo - I am jealous indeed. This summer was supposed to be the one where I finish our backyard and get a deck installed... but I've been SO busy with shoots, there hasn't been time!
