Please hold a moment.

I haven’t lost a lot of very close people in my life. While we're here, we really should take the chance to photograph those we love.  I mean it.  Really sit them down, and focus a moment on their being. I write this because I've just returned from visiting my Grandparents in Stratford, Ontario. <abridged> We never saw each other much growing up on opposite ends of the country, and thus were never really "close" per se.  They don't fly.  Talk on the phone maybe twice a year.  Haven't seen them in 10 years.  Grandpa is not well.

Now, had I not known of my Grandpa's rapidly failing health, I may not have thought to make a meaningful portrait.  Sad, isn't it?   Yeah, hard to admit, too.  Such a simple way to hold a moment - while it is within your grasp. So, please hold a moment however you can, while you can.  Let me tell you - It feels great. Shout out to my friends & family - you're the best!
