Please hold a moment.

I haven’t lost a lot of very close people in my life.
While we're here, we really should take the chance to photograph those we love.  I mean it.  Really sit them down, and focus a moment on their being.

I write this because I've just returned from visiting my Grandparents in Stratford, Ontario.

<abridged> We never saw each other much growing up on opposite ends of the country, and thus were never really "close" per se.  They don't fly.  Talk on the phone maybe twice a year.  Haven't seen them in 10 years.  Grandpa is not well.

Now, had I not known of my Grandpa's rapidly failing health, I may not have thought to make a meaningful portrait.  Sad, isn't it?   Yeah, hard to admit, too.

Such a simple way to hold a moment - while it is within your grasp.

So, please hold a moment however you can, while you can.  Let me tell you - It feels great.

Shout out to my friends & family - you're the best!

A beautiful sentiment. All

A beautiful sentiment. All too often we are so focused on our own lives that we miss the bigger picture. A lot of questions about who we are can be answered by where we come from and our family history. It was really wonderful to be present to see that side if your life being explored.
